No surprise, on Axios, Steve LeVine speculated about a world without Facebook. The EU is gunning for it because of antitrust issues. Those could become prominent in the U.S.
But even worse for Facebook is the escalating discontent with what it is willing to do for profit. What happened to that mission of connecting everyone?
Increasingly that everyone is visiting Facebook less often or not at all. The heavy hitters in my fields of communications and coaching as well as my clients have not been active on my Facebook page. Instead they have migrated to posting on LinkedIn Updates and Twitter.
Soon enough marketers could wake up and notice the reduction of activity on their promotional sites. In its wild-eyed chase after advertising bucks, Facebook might be killing the goose that laid the golden eyes.
