The public relations game is full of Hail Mary passes. Some will work. Some won't.
The major question to the tech world is this: Will Amazon's gushing press release about device sales, without numbers, trigger herd buying? Or, will consumers perceive they are being played with and not buy?
In the influential TechCrunch, Natasha Lomas reports that Dave Limp, Senior Vice President of Amazon Devices, issued that vague media announcement. It reads:
"We're excited that millions of customers will be opening new Amazon devices this holiday season. This has already been the biggest holiday shopping season for Amazon devices, and we're energized by the year over year growth for all of our product categories."
Should The Gush prove effective, other public relations players will try that tactic. And, a great mega gush can over-take the land during this special time of the year.
