Financial wriers, much like those in tech, are in demand and well-paid. Given that reality, I feel like Alice in Wonderland, post-falling down the rabbit hole. A most peculiar situation I have encountered.
I answered a help-wanted for a contract financial writer at MoveCU.com, The organization is focused on credit unions. That's a concept I am bullish about.
Quickly, I receive a reply from Christina Miller, Manager/Media and Public Relations (christina@movecu.com, 805-965-2100). She instructs me to research and submit a 600-word original writing sample on credit union legislation. If the team figures it up to muster, they will pay me and invite me to do more articles. They do not specify how much they will pay for that task or for later articles.
This is seemingly a peculiar way to conduct business, is it not?. No, I will not proceed further in my aplication. From my point of view, this shows profound disrespect for not only financial writers but also the very concept of the credit union.
