It's the new Catch-22. The lack of name recognition prevents getting name recognition. After all, attention gets attention. Default or strategically plan one's way into the spotlight and then the media do notice. But then they pounce. Negative makes for traffic, shares, likes, and comments.
Chris Christie, New Jersey's Governor, mutated from an interesting politico to a national star. Nancy Reagan and other top guns in the GOP framed him as an emerging leader of the party. He made it all the way to deliver the keynote address at the RNC.
No surprise then, the RNC address became controversial. Some brutally panned it for being too-Christie. Others complained it didn't push the dial on positioning Mitt Romney as the one who could fix America.
Now, in the influential THE NEW YORK TIMES, Michael Powell hammers that Christie's state has the fourth highest unemployment in the nation. This is at a time when jobs numbers translate into brand equity.
If Christie becomes a tarnished brand now that he is a brand other politicos might get it that they should maintain a lower profile and push the spotlight onto the people.
Very nice stamps. I like the 'Merci' address one, but as we keep moving it would be outdated very quickly!!! So my fav would have to be a more general design such as the elegant 'Nola'. I'm not planning on changing my name anytime soon! LOL
