The Pope, the Vatican and thousands of others deplore and find unacceptable that the graves of two cardinals (in a cathedral) have been forcefully drilled open by the Belgian police. What the heck for?? Naturally they found absolutely nothing there. It was a totally ridiculous and lousy thing to do. Did they really expect a laptop with porn or a name list of victims in those graves? Many thinking people in Belgium are also outraged by this.

The bishop conference worked with the police who however kept them for nine hours without a drop of water or a bite to eat.
More upset than the Vatican however was the head of the secular commission who is investigating these ALLEGED cases for the church. The police grabbed all the case files of that office and the psychologist who heads this commission is right in saying that the promise of confidentiality made to victims has now been broken. They won't trust the police or the secular commission ever again.

The Pope and many others are correct: the method used by the police in this case is really to be deplored.
