Pigments & Chips

The lead paint public nuisance litigation has been going on forever, or around a decade.  Along the way some six defense trial attorneys have become world famous.  They got to argue this landmark litigation - right up there with some of the Supremes' best - because they're charismatic, just sexy enough to throw off electricity but not alienate male jurors, and true showmen.  Yesterday, I suggested to one - Don Scott who represents NL Industries - that he should form a rock band.  I have given this further thought.  In fact, I now see it as a six-man group.  Call it Pigments & Chips.

Lisa Marie - Dead Wringer for Fat Elvis

The cover of the March 24th GLOBE has a close-up photo of Lisa Marie.  Those droopy eyes, seductive lips and girth make her a dead wringer for Fat Elvis.  Inside the GLOBE, the story by reporter Lynn Allison notes that Lisa Marie explains any extra pounds as the result of pregnancy.  The baby is not due until the fall.  And it's not her middle section that's bulked up but her face, shoulders and upper torso.  At 5'3'', she could weigh in, some conjecture, at 200 pounds.  It sure looks like that according to the photos.

The World Didn't Let Liza Heal

That big voice might be going silent.  In the December 31st issue of GLOBE, Jim Nelson and Tony Brenna describe Liza' most recent downward spiral this way:

"Showbiz legend Liza Minnelli collapsed during a concert in Sweden and now pals fear the troubled 61-year-old legend is facing her final days."

Chastity at 325 Pounds - Why Is This All About Cher

Five-foot-five Chastity Bono, who now weighs in at 325 pounds, probably never had a chance, did she.  When she was born and growing up, her parents had to focus on their careers.  The music business is totally cut-throat. When her famous mother Cher did pay attention, reports GLOBE writers Tony Brenna and Lynn Allison "it was to put her on every imaginable diet as a child." In the 1990s Chastity's significant other and father both died.  She hasn't seemed to make peace with those losses, at least not yet.
