Now, they're confirmed.
On Abovetthelaw.com, lawyer-journalist Joe Patrice reports that law firm Paul, Weiss has parachuted in. This is big news because when 21st Century Fox contracted with Paul-Weiss about the allegations surrounding Fox News head Roger Ailes, that was the beginning of the end for that media genius. As we all know, Ailes resigned.
Could this be the beginning of the end also for O'Reilly? Agreed he is a $100 million franchise annually for The Murdoch Father and Sons. Also, since the scandal broke, his ratings have soared.
But, no one is irreplaceable. After star Megyn Kelly left Fox News, Tucker Carlson replaced her. His ratings are better than hers had been. And no one can predict if Kelly can navigate the new pressures she faces at NBC.
If O'Reilly is forced to resign, he will probably take down others with him. They too will have to go.
Perhaps O'Reilly can land on his feet in the Trump Administration. The Donald opines that Bill is good people.
