What is obvious about the Monica Lewinsky saga is that the woman at the center of the sex scandal never did become a "one name."
We all still refer to her as "Monica Lewinsky." Despite the media attention she was not enough of whatever to morph into a "Madonna," "Angelina," or "Hillary."
Public relations pros might have recommended that she build a new life for herself overseas. After all, she had studied in London. She had access to a fresh network.
I always thought she should change her name, get plastic surgery to alter her too-well-known features and put together a low-profile career path. There was nothing to salvage and leverage in the mess of being Bill Clinton's sex toy.
