Only twice in 2013 had I suited up to see clients. The suit was not custom-tailored, as had most of my professional clothes before telecommuting. Because it wasn't no longer did I create the power of presence.
It dawned on me: Those wanted to build empires, not just make a comfortable living like myself, would opt out of telecommuting. And they would return to their tailor.
Men always knew what a tailor could do for them. Not only did the tailor enhance the flow of their natural bodies, minimizing flaws. The tailor's work was noticed as a sort of secret handshake by others with status, influence and wealth. Yes, it got the men admitted to those circles.
During the early 1980s when women were learning about power suits the part left out was having them custom-made. Instead, we were told to go high-end stores and ask for a personal shopper. That was it. I had to learn the tailoring part on my own.
