I almost missed out on a nice piece of business. That was because I hadn't checked the messages on LinkedIn in a few days. The good news is that the former client still wanted my services enough to overlook the seeming tardiness.
See, I had been preoccupied with my friends on Facebook who had been supporting me in my plan to relocate my executive communications shop to the southwest. Also, I had covered a suicide on my legal blog Law and More which generated both comments and controversy which required time.
My wish is that the world of social networks and media would consolidate. And become centralized. There would be only whatever I had to click on to check all my messages and who's been checking up on me (LinkedIn tracks that). Meanwhile so many of us spend too much time keeping up with the social.
