The Farrow Clan was probably not happy last evening. Cate Blanchett won the best actress award for her quirky performance in Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine." Obviously, those doing the voting didn't hold the Farrows' allegations about Allen against his work.
The takeaway from this is the wisdom of crowds. Those with the power to make big decisions like Oscar winners, fans and folks looking for a bit of distraction through entertainment didn't care about Mia, Dylan and Ronan. Their focus was on the quality of a performance in what was judged a well-done film.
Maybe the Farrow clan will recede now from the spotlight. Ronan's show does not seem to have an edge. He might wind up to have his more than 15 minutes of fame and call it a celebrity day. He can join Mama Bear in doing good around the world and being covered in a blurb in Parade every two or three years.
Talent is everything. We worship it in America. Ronan may have blue-eyed good looks. But does he have broadcasting talent?
