The latest the Farrow's publicity machine has cranked out is a letter from adopted daughter Dylan alleging her father Woody Allen sexually abused her. Many many years ago. Duh. It was published in none other than The New York Times. Here is the material.
Meanwhile, son Ronan tweets negatively about Allen, who may or may not be his father.
The platform for this new campaign was an article about the matriach Saint Mia in Vanity Fair.
A successful publicity campaign has many intended and unintended consequences. Likely one has been extreme interest in Ronan's show on MSNBC. Another is more interest in Mia's global good works.
But an unintended one might be more success for Allen. Also possibly more compassion. This saga of the Farrow family hating Allen goes back to the early 1990s. It should be over. No human being should have to be subjected to such public hammering of character. Allen could make a dark comedy about how a genius winds up in this kind of emotional, public relations and, at one time, legal pickle.
