Any of us professionals working late in the New York Metro area could have been on one of those trains tonight. We had put up witht the single digit temperatures and were looking forward to the comfort of a warm home and sleep. That wasn't going to happen, not for a while.
The New York Post reports:
"The entire Metro-North train system ground to a halt Thursday night due to a power glitch ... Passengers have been stranded since 7:45 P.M. because of a computer problems [sic] in the control room, the agency said."
Here is the Post coverage.
The trains do have heat and power. But those aren't the heat and power in one's own home. Our hearts go out to our fellow professionals whose misery got worse. Meanwhile here near our homes, because of the severe cold, many of our dogs can't poop, at least not outside. Some are holding it in. Others carry downcast looks as they do their business inside. And we pet parents feel their pain - physical and emotional.
