Brand Davos still has time in its shelf life. The only hint that it might not be as long as some hoped is that Bill Clinton of the Clinton Global Initiative isn't going. Also, Gawker has been having a good time arguing how the whole thing is a joke. Part of the evidence Gawker presents is that Randi Zuckerberg will be there again and hailed as a young global leader. Here is that Gawker bit.
But, those of us who hustle every day for business know the pull power of the brand. Being at Davos brings in business. Because you're there you're assumed to be successful as well as highly credible. After all, you are in good company. If you become a Davos regular you are likely to make out like a bandit through networking. You know the ropes. You know how to be invited to the good parties. You know how to ask for the sale.
Davos is worth the high price of admission.
