In the January 2014 edition, VANITY FAIR digs into what's behind the lawsuits against "hot yoga" guru Bikram Choudhury and Merck's NuvaRing, a birth control device. In addition, it presents the weaknesses, along with the strengths, of Yahoo's leader Marissa Mayer. Now, VANITY FAIR is a media outlet which has become a player in influencing serious issues, not just advancing the careers of celebrities.
The question is: Will this direction bring in more ads? Time will tell. The January issue is not thick.
