Where it has the edge is that its stories can be headlined on the wildly popular free POLITICO website. For example, take the story by NY CAPITAL writer Joe Pompeo that Time Inc. will continue layoffs. Here is that article. Although the content has no direct connection to politics, there the link was on the POLITICO site.
The New York media marketplace is continually going through creative destruction. NY CAPITAL may wind up either the killer or the killed off. But, given POLITICO's aggressiveness, the odds are that it will be eating establshed media for lunch rather the other way around.
