Those among us who have not screwed up big through what we had said can cast the first stone at Martin Bashir. He is suffering for his rage-filled remarks about Sarah Palin. Yes, he has resigned MSNBC. Here is the coverage of that in the NEW YORK POST.
But, hell, we can indulge in Schadenfreude, that is enjoying someone else's misery. Probably that will take the form that we did not blow it as badly as Bashir. Sure, there were consequences to our mouthing off but we didn't lose a glam job and our transgression wasn't detailed in the establishment media.
Post-Schadenfreude we can reflect on our universal human condition of myopia. Few of us can accurately calculate the ramifications of what we do. My hunch is Bashir is kind of stunned a few sentences put him out of a very good job.
