You bet, whether it's print, digital, or video, that communications will be designer-driven. It's the designer, not the chief executive officer or the content-provider like myself calling the shots. Steve Jobs' biggest achievement might not have been the iPhone. It might be his insistence on design to dominate.
In the strategic planning of a website this morning we discussed Infographics. At the very least there should be mapping and some charts. At best the narrative should be presented within those linked boxes of traditional Infographics. Our world is visual. Without that element of design, the organization's competitors will be grabbing all the eyeballs. High rankings on search engines are not enough.
The more design concepts and language we content-providers make our own, the more marketable we are and the higher the prices we can bill.
