Here in Connecticut and throughout the nation, people are asking me that. Celebrity has been thrust upon me, in my late 60s, because I bunk in senior citizen housing. Early last week, Building D went on fire. I am based in Building B. The potential for tragedy, of course, was great. A through E are 18-story high rises. But, the firefighters and other emergency crew got everyone out safely. The news continues because the residents will be displaced for weeks.
This was hardly my first brush with fame as a geezer. Several months ago, ABC News interviewed me because at age 67 I had gotten a job. Yup, I had beaten out all the young whippersnappers to be hired for a telecommuting position. Here is the clip from that. Nothing succeeds like success so that opened the door to lucrative contracting assignments. The job became history. But people still stop me in Connecticut and contact me via Facebook and email about "that interview." Guess not everyone gets on Diane Sawyer.
When I was much younger - 60 - fame also came my way when I published an ebook about how I had lost my business, nest egg, and mind in 2003. Here is that book which has had about a million downloads Download Geezerguts.
In my young adulthood and middle age, I was just another Professional Woman (that was the phrase before Leaning In). With age, fame keeps finding me.
