How many brandname players will continue to take a hit because of an ill-thought-out tweet?
We recall former GE Chief Executive Officer Jack Welch's infamous tweet about allegedly fudged job numbers before the presidential election. Had he consulted his communications advisers and his lawyers, I have a hunch he would have never clicked "tweet."
Now we have political rock star and possible presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. She tweeted that she supported gay marriage. As POLITICO covers the uproar, her supporters and enemies are all astounded about this ham-handed statement, both in content and timing.
Surely as a liberal Clinton supported gay marriage. We assumed that. If she wanted to reinforce that position then she should have slipped it in during a talk show, speech, or opinion-editorial published in a media property like THE NEW YORK TIMES, which focused on another issue which was in some way related.
Hillary stumbles. Now it will be interesting to observe and deconstruct how she gets up, dusts herself off, and marches on to The Next.

Monitor the tree for freshness. After Christmas or if the tree is dry, remove it from the house.
