What we're seeing is that politics may indeed be a cool, not hot, medium. Too much is at stake for the dynamics to operate with intensity. Beneath the surface rah-rah is usually a tempered mindset such as that of Roger Ailes who knows how to generate both influence and profits.
The rest of the GOP has much to learn before the elections of 2014 and 2016. Ailes has already made his moves with the Fox purge.
