In a sense, given the culture of collaboration, we have become a part of the seamless web of input and output that becomes published books, articles, opinion-editorials, blog posts, tweets, webinars, video trailers, and proposals. Instead of the familiar "with" we have morphed into the ghost in the publishing machine.
In addition to being relatively well paid we are now a part of, rather than being apart from. The number-one perk is the exposure to the latest thinking on the new normal, be it in ecommerce, online education, recruiting, or healing. If we are good in integrating that then we are considered as much thought leaders as the brandname personalities we write for. Only as ghosts in the machine, we are invisible.
