The tone-deaf GOP has spun a nostagia theme that is not resonating. Since 2008 when so many of us had to wake up to new global econonomic realities disrupted by technology we have taken great pride in our ability to move on from the affluent past, relearn how to hustle for a buck, and make a penny scream even as we shop in consignment shops and Goodwill.
Our focus is on the future. Our hope is that it will be a little better than the last few months which have been a little better than things have been economically since 2008. But things won't get better if the government tampers with our entitlements. For us Baby Boomers at the top of the list are Medicare and Social Security. We know that the incumbent in the White House will protect those.
Americans can't go back. Our only shot at the future is moving forward.
When I want to cover shows for blogging I charm my way into residences which still have TVs or see them a few days later on free Internet TV.
