No question, Arianna Huffington is a global media star. She also is an executive at AOL. However, like all those at the top, she has to be worried about others at the top, in the middle, and even at the bottom of the food chain wanting to do her in. As that line in Shakespeare goes, "Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown." Incidentally, all those she has brought into her media empire, which is officially headed by Tim Armstrong, should also be a little worried.
In BUSINESS INSIDER, Nicholas Carlson reports that there are rumblings that Huffington is a "headache" at AOL. The issue is: will Armstrong, the board of directors, or shareholders push her out? If that happens, and Carlson doesn't predict it will any time soon, then those she brought in could also be out in the cold. They would be hitting the unemployment lines in a shrinking industry, at least in which the wages are still good. If they get the ax, that would add a lot more talent on the streets in an already glutted sector.
