Unlike Sarah Palin, Chris Christie didn't seem to do a fan dance, teasing supporters about whether he would or would not run. That made the star power he earned during that interim all the more dazzling and enduring. Athough no longer the star himself, he is in demand to provide some twinkle. One might think of his new role as star-additive.
On December 12th, reports POLITICO, Christie will be hosting a fundraiser for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Clearly, one goal in reaching to be a star is to be able to leverage some of that force later. That allows for the operation of some parts of star power without the burden of actually being a star. Being a star opens one to 24/7 scrutiny by the media as well as many other constituencies.
