Political genius Karl Rove has some insightful observations in today's THE WALL STREET JOURNAL about the new and old rules which seem to be shaping winning in Campaign08.

Media Czar Rupert Murdoch rarely misses an emerging trend or how to piggyback on it for his own profit. So the fact that his NEW YORK POST endorses Barack Obama in the Democratic primary seems to say a lot about how the money-men are already calling this election.

The controversial Daniel Edwards' bronze sculpture captures Oprah Winfrey, I am convinced, just about right.

John and Elizabeth will not be riding into the sunset. Team Edwards is useful to any Democratic Administration. The buzz is already strong that John will be the new Attorney General in an Obama White House.

"It's a good contact." That's what a member of the Six-Degrees tribe in Manhattan yelled into the phone at me. Although I was not an official member of the tribe, I wandered onto its reservation often enough for freelance assignments that its rules were imposed on me.
Mindlessly I complied. I talked to this "good contact," who was a reporter with a financial publication about how it had been writing speeches for Lee Iacocca. Since that experience had occurred 25 years ago and Iacocca had fallen from grace, I was not a happy camper.

Ted, Caroline and Patrick Kennedy verbally and in photo-ops endorse Barack Obama. The influential THE NEW REPUBLIC, in its February 13th edition, carries an article titled "Over-Billed: Clinton fatigue in the heart of the Democratic Party." And, as we have been reading and viewing, both mainstream and new media feel totally free to scream headlines bashing iconic Bill and the triangulated Hillary.
Has the Democratic Establishment turned on The Clintons? Are the Clintons being run out of town?

If Hillary is elected president, the score will stand at 44 U.S. presidents were WASPS, 1 was a non-WASP. My core chip on my shoulder is not about gender but about how I see myself blocked in my early career by the contacts, cool and Ivy League education of WASPS. So, you know where I stand in this election.

Clearly, both parties are somewhat wrong. The bloggers at ShapingYouth.org contacted retailer Target. The blog's founder Amy Jussel complained about a Target ad which had a female splayed across a Target logo. Her crotch was centered on the bull's eye. I view that configuration as a simple attempt to achieve symmetry.
Target responded with a statement that it doesn't respond to non-traditional media. I view that as dumb for a chain that's trying to be hip.

That Ted, Caroline and now Patrick Kennedy are endorsing Barack Obama is probably doing more for the dying Kennedy dynasty than it is for this presidential candidate. The Kennedys, who seemed so irrelevant, now are getting back their Camelot aura by association with this young, dashing, Harvard-educated man who evokes the best of John F. Kennedy.

Wow! I could feel that same chill going down my spine that I felt when John Fitzgerald Kennedy was campaigning and the too-short days of Camelot. Could America really be blessed with another Camelot era? Maybe, just maybe, it could happen if Barack Obama is elected President.
And by endorsing Obama, both Caroline and Ted Kennedy are helping make the magic return.
