Lindsay is out cold on the front page of THE NEW YORK POST and maybe that's a good thing. She is finally stopped. Clearly she is in the throes of some kind of addiction and can't stop. From a long line of Eastern European alcoholics I know can't-stop. It means just that: Can't-stop, not Won't-stop. This is substance abuse, folks.
Will rehab help Lindsay to stop? There's no telling.
Statistics show that the lion's share of substance abusers can't stay straight, at least not for a year. Those who make it are sometimes called "blessed" by their higher power or by grace. According to the teachings of Alcoholics Anonymous, they undergo a "spiritual awakening." In layman's terms, you would say that they "get it" that they can't tamper with any substance that might for them prove addictive.
If Lindsay weren't a celeb she would be in a dismal detox right now and then, if that didn't work, she would wind up on the streets homeless. When she isn't a celeb any more and runs through her money, she could still go that route.
