Barback Obama Wrote His Own Book - So?

America's new hope Barack Obama wrote his own book "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream."  That's what Michael Kazin informs us in his review of that book for THE WASHINGTON POST.  Kazin sees this as a plus for Obama and maybe for America.  Kennedy and Reagan, Kazin points out, didn't write their own books.

But, does America need a man who writes his own books and doesn't need or want a ghostwriter like myself or does it need a leader who can truly lead?

This may be professional self-justification and it may not be.  But, I certainly would not want the heads of the companies I own stock in to be wasting their time writing their own books, articles, opinion-editorials and speeches.  Extend that way of economic thinking to the far more important job of being U.S. President.  Would it benefit the nation if its leader was a busy-bee writer?

Think back to how our nation was really impressed that Jimmy Carter carried his own suitcase and answered his own phone.  Well, we didn't stay impressed very long.  Carter didn't get a 2nd term as U.S. President.

Obama has many strengths.  Let's focus on them, not possible liabilities such as choosing to write his own book.  Some of the best and brightest in business and politics efficiently communicate their visions to a pro like myself and invest themselves in doing what most other people can't do: Lead.
